Messrs Alison Brothers have joined the ranks of breeders who believe in emas* culating their young thoroughbreds. The other day five oub of six rising yoarlinga which they bred last season, aired by Hegel, were emasculated, one of the number being oab of Pearl (dam of Carbuncle).
The Hawke'a Bay Jockey Club have received Bplendid nominations for tha two big lepping races of their Winter Meeting;. In the Hurdle Race of 200sOTa no less than 32 are entered, while the Steeplechase of 3GOBOVS has secured an entry .of 25. The Auckland horses Grenadier and Faddy O'Rourke figure in the small stick race, but their names are absent from the Steeplechase. Mr Henry declares the weights after the North New Zealand Grand National Meeting at Bllerslie.
Complaints roach mo that a certain racing club in Auckland has failed to pay stakes won aba recenb meeting:. Tho Metropolitan Racing Club should certainly refuse to pass the programme of this club in future.
Judging from the manner Mutiny ran in the Napier Park Steeplechnse on Wednesday he has lost none of his old dash. He carried a tidy weight too in 12sb Sib. The Mute's son was not pulled oub for the Park Steeplechase on the second day of the mooting; which fell to Timothy, who, by the bye, did not run lasb season. Byers' hands, to be prepared for future engagements.

Warpaint, winner of the Adelaide Cup, paid a dividend of £11 9a. Late advices show thab Paris 111. waa a very hob favourite far Northamptonshire Stake?, won by him a few woeka ago. The little fellow carried Bab 61b, and was ridden by M< Cannon. There were 13 starters, and Paris; who wenb out at 2 to 1, won in a canter, running the naile and a-half and 2Coyds in 3min 7 l-saec. The value of the stakes was £925.
Suwarrow, who won the V.R.U. Derby in 1879, died in California, where he was doing stud duty, in March lasb, the result of an uccideub.
