PONSONBy NAVAL ARTILLERY.
The final stage for Mr Teutenberg's medal was fired on Mounb Eden range on Saturday afternoon. Tbe weather was all thab could be wished for, and some splendid scores were made, under the following conditions : Seven shots each ab 200 yards, kneeling ; 300 and 500 yards any position. In the first competition, it will be remembered thab Potby Officers John and George Spinley were abie with 75 points each. The final match caused considerable interest, and the shooting ot these two competitors was keenly watched. At the conclusion of the 300 yards, P.O. Spinley, firing in the first squad, made 25 poinbs for hia 7 shots, and thus finished with a good score of 81 points. G.Spinley.fking in the second squad, required 28 point, to win. He started with a bull's-eye, which he followed up with an inner and a magpie, then soored three consecutive bull's-eyes, which gave him a tie nnd one shot to go. The interest grew very exciting and every eye was fixed ' on bhia competitor's target for the last) Bhob, and when signalled an inner there was loud applause, for the medal was thus won by Petty Officer G. E. Spinley, who at this stage made a fine total of 31 points, and an aggregate of IfjO points, J. Spinley being second with 156. A word of praise may be given for the ammunition.
