This morning the barque Acacia was placed on the hard at Quay-street) for cleaning. She tows down to Turua tonight.
To-morrow Messrs Donald and Edenboroughs island trading steamer Richmond is expected to arrive from Karotongt* and Tahiti.
Tho brigantine Anthons, from Kaipara, put into Portland (Victoria)'on April _otb, short of water, and resumed her voyage to Fremantlaon Saturday, the 2nd inst.
The s.s. Star of England is expected at this porb from Sydney at the end of tho week. She is under the command of Captain \V. J. Reed, formerly of the ship Star of Russia.
The Union Company's s.s. Takapuna arrived from" the South on Saturday evening. At 6.30 sho grounded on the bank just before reaching the wharf aud has not yet floated oft. It is expected that she will leave again for the south bo-morrow morning.
The- s.s. Torawera, which, arrived from Sydney this morning, reported sighting tbe s.s. Tasmania at 1 a.m. on tho Bth, bound west, and a large barque oil the Three Kings yesterday morning, holding an eastorly course.
On Saturday afternoon the brigantine Defiance sailed for Kaipara to load timber for Sydney. A brigantine, probably the Defiance, passed Cape Maria Van Diemen this morning, bouud South via the West Coast.
The brigantine Gleßner arrived ab midnight yesterday with a cargo of produce from Porb Chalmers. Captain F. J. Blackwell reports thab bhe Gleaner sailed from Otago Heads on Tuesday nighb, the 28th ult., and met with strong south-west winds bo the Easb Gape, which was abeam on the 3rd inst., from thence to arrival strong northerly and westerly winds. The brigantine is discharging ab Quay-abreeb jebty.
The e.s. Tarawera arrived in porb ab 10 this morning.bub waanob berthed till 11.30. The purser, Mr A. C. Walker, to whom we aro indebted for files, reports that the gteamer lefb Sydney ab 8 p.m. on bhe 6th insb., cleared Jackson's Heads half an hour later, sighted the Three Kings ab 9.45 a.m. on 10th, had Tiri Tiri abeam ab 8.10 a.m. on the 11th and arrived aa above. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage.
