The Government profess to bo wellsatisfied with the result of th,e elections. With the support of the Labour party they claim to have an absolute majority in the House. The members of the Government have all secured seats, while tho Opposition ia in danger of losing Mr Downer's seat ab Mounb Barker.- Messrs Cockburn and Landaeer briumpbed over Mr Moulden. Tho women pollod heavily on bhe educational and referendum questions, but the result is unknown.
