MEETING OF CREDITORS.
A general meeting of creditors in the estate of H. W. Mitchell, surveyor, was held yesterday at the office of the Official Assignee. There were presenb the following creditors:—Messrs Cussen (for self and Ellis), Jervi3 senior (supervisor, and also proxy for Jervis junior and C. C. McMillan), E. T. Dufaur (for self, Taylor, Larkins, Noble, Kirk, Peddie, Karaitiana, Mair, Battley, Yates, and Hunia Tokorua),
Mr Lawson, the Official-Assignee, explained thab the meeting had been called specially to consider Mr Cuseen's.proposal of Apr. 9, to survey the dividing line between the Hauhungaroa and Waituhi Kuratau blocks in order to enable the estate to obtain paymenb of bho lien now exisibing. The estimated cost to the estate was £100. The charging order was 30 per cent, of £525, and accrued interest, amounting roughly speaking to £200, and the labter sum unless the survey was made would have to be abandoned by the creditors. The £100 expended by bho estate would bo secured by a charging order. Ib was resolved •'Thab the proposal of Mr Cussen be accepted on the condition thab the amount to be paid by the Official Assignee for such survey does not exceed 30 por cenb. of bhe amount ac certified by bhe Survey Office authorities as the sum for which lien will be granted by the Nabive Land Court ; and thab before auch final paymenb Mr Cussen execube a transfer to bhe Official Assignee of snch 30 per cent, of bhe amounb mentioned in the certificate of the Survey Office."
