THE TROUBLE AT RAIATEA.

The trouble with the natives ab Raiabea continues, they, still declining to recognise French authority. The flag staffs at Raiabea and Tahaa, which were shot down by the French man-of-war Aube during February, have, it is stated, been pub up again by the natives, and the British red ensign again hoisted by them. So far the Tahiti Government have taken no further action in the matter, but His Excellency Mons. Clovis Papinaud, Governor of Tahiti and French Oceania, was among tho passengers per the s.s. Richmond. He is on his way to France to discuss with the Government there the trouble. Mons. Papinaud expects to reborn to Tahiti in about six months time. A number of French officials on their way to France were also passengers by the Richmond.
