TO THE MEMBERS of the AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY.
Ladies and Gentlemen,~l beg to announce that) lo ia my intention to offer my«elf as a candidate for a scab on the Board at,the next annual meeting. i think it proper to inform you that I will, if elected, exert myself to the utmost to extend tho operations of the Society to Great Britain. My reaaona for thie extension were given at length at a special meetine of the Society, held in Sydney on the 24th July, 1891, at which meeting I carried a resolution in its favour," bub did not obtain the two-thirds majority necessary to an alteration in the by-laws. My speech will be found fully reported iv the morning papers of July 25th, 1891. Since these reasons were urged a eevero criaiß has shaken to their foundation many of the financial institutions of Australasia, and has emphasised the necessity for extending oor operations, in order thab we may be rendered largely independent of the disturbing influences of local crises and disasters, faithfully yours, R, M. PITT, Meaere Pitfe, Son and Badgery, Ltd., Stock and Station Agents, Sydney.
