Havannah, February 3. Maceo Gomez, the rebel leader, entrapped General Canella's army, 140 of whom were killed, and nothing but the timely arrival of reinforcements prevented a general massacre.
Madrid, February 4.
Marshal Campos states that Cuba is unable to meet the expenses of Government, which amount to three hundred milliou pesetas yearly. The resources ot the Island are exhausted.
