Counb de Jouffroy d' Abbans, French Consul at Wellington, and Mr de MonUlk, one of the lecturers of the University College, Auckland, have been elected Associes iFollowe) de 'I Alliance Francaise for the propagation of the French language in the colonies. The immenso popularity of Dr. Emily Brainerd Ryder's lectures to ladies was evinced yesterday afternoon by the large crowd who completely tilled the City Hall. Dr. Ryder announced that in response to many requests she would give another lecture in the City Hall on Thursday afc 3 p.m., in which she would go over the main features of her health lectures, touching specially on diseases of women. She is also going to lecture on Friday in the Wesley Hall, Piitstreetv at 7.45 p.m. to women workers and girlß who cannot) attend during the day,
