MOVEMENTS OF MINISTERS.

Christchurch, this.day. The Ballance Liberal Association, Walbham, la6b nighb presented,, tbe Hon. W. P. Reeves with a copy, printed on satin, of the platform of bho Association. Mr Reeves, in replying, referred to the move-/ menb for the abolition of party government. He pointed out thab bhe successes gained by the Liberal party, and the improvement of bhe position of the workers, Lad been gained through party organisation, and he said thab if the party system were abolished the ground gained and the hope of further advance would bo lost. The Premier, who was presenb, also* spoke, a_d among the other speakers were Messrs G. W. Ruseell and W. W. Collins, M.H.R. _, and Beswick, Mayor of Christchurch.
The Premier, who had arranged to return to Wellington by the Takapuna, waa unable to catch thab steamer, and will leave by the Waihora to-night.
