ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of members of the Pict-atraet Wesleyan Church was held yesterdey evening in the schoolroom, and was fairly well attended. Mr Thos. Allen presided. The Treasurer's balauce • sheet showed the receipts of the tru;b account to be £378 5a Bd, and the expenditure the same, including £50 paid oil' a mortgage. The annual report, which was read by the Secretary (Mr VV. D. Butble), referred to the removal by death of Messr3 Richsrd Arthur and R. J. Souster, two energetic office bearers, and expressed the deepest sympathy with their relations. The general work of the church during the year was satisfactory, and gave cause for thankfulness. The Sunday-school was in a satisfactory state of efficiency. The number of scholars on the roll for the morning school wa3 163, average 75; the toachers numbered 11, and the average attendance was 10. For the afternoon the number was 468, and the average 314; teachers 45, average 41. Thanks were accorded to Mr Forbes and the members of the choir. Reference was also made to the Band of Hope, Christian Endeavour Society, Mutual Improvement Society, the Wednesday evening service?, mothers' meebing, Home Mission Fund, Ladies' Foreign Missionary Society, and the visit of the Rev. T. Cook.
The Chairman addressed the meeting on the work of the church, and he was followed by the Revs. G. B. Monro, and Mr J. Watkin, on the same subject. The Rev. S. F. Prior etated that Pitt-street Church had contributed in the twelve months £354 14s to the support of the ministry in the circuit; £378 5s 8d for church tnut, and that income more than meb expenditure ; that £66 had been disbursed on account of the poor ; raised for. foreign missions (including Pitb-streeb moiety of the spocial Fiji relief fund), about £130 ; home mission, £65; for Sunday-school purposes, £116; by Christian Endeavourers, £7 7s ; other items, £125 ; a sum total of over £1,340 income. Hβ made special mention of the generosity of Mr J. J. Craig in forwarding a cheque for £40 towards trust funds. He regretted the loss by death of Mrs Froude, a constant attendant. He reported thab throughout the circuib they had 520 full members, 36 on trial, and 95 catacbumens.
Solos, duets, and antherr.s were given by the choir, Mi W. F. Forbes conducting.
