During a recenb visib bo Japan, a Sydney merchanb succeeded in inducing the Russian merchants who supply tha Russian naval nnd penal stations ab Vladivostok with meat to give Australian beef a trial, and has jusb forwarded an experimental shipment by the Changsha. Ho believes that ib is possible to establish a large trade, as up to the present the supplies are obtained chiefly from Africa.
