Mariner.—No. T drivedn the Eileen section : The reef bas undergone little or no change since my lasb, and is ab presenb from 7to 8 feet wide in the face. I purpose stoping this drive for the present, as "ibis too near the surface to carry on operations to advantage. No. 2 crosscut to intersect the same reef 70 feet deeper is now in 12 feet in solid counbry. Talisman Extended.—The low level crosscut has' been extended 10 feeb during bhe past week, or altogether 77 feet. Two small leaders, each aboub two inches thick, have been cut through. The quartz is of a kindly appearance. 'This is the bret quartz that has been met with in the drive, co that the reef may be cub very soon. The reef still continues to be of a fir3b-class description for golden reefs.
