PORT ALBERT.
D. Carron, of Wharohine, was charged before R. Bush, Esq., S.M., on AuguKt 14bh, with running a bull ab large. Ha pleaded guilty, and was ordered to pay the costa, amounting to £2 15s.
The August meeting of the Port Albert Agricultural Society was held at the residence of Mr T. A. Gubb on Wednesday, Mr Percy Gubb read a paper on tho "M^f* tality Amongst Sheep."
The number of members in the Hope of Alberbland Lodge, 1.0. G.T., steadily increases. Bro. E. Marcrofb was installed C.T.; Sis. A. Gubb, V.T. ; Bro. C. H*fford, S. ; Sis. Becroft, C, at bhe meeting on Tuesday.
So far Augusb has been a pleasant contrast to the two previous months. 'j?ho weather has been fine—quite cheering to settlers in the North.
