REVIVAL OF TRADE.
London, August 18.
Ab the annual meeting of the Cobden Club, the secretary reported that the prospects of free trade in New South Wales were highly encouraging, and there were better tokens of re-action in Victoria than for many years.
Siemens' offer to devote £200,000 to establish works to treat New Zealand ironsand is conditional on the Government granting a bonus of £1 perton on iron produced until the trade is placed on a tirm foundation.
