Wellington, this day. THE FROZEN MEAT CONFERENCE. Yestekday the Parliamentary Committee appointed in connection with the Frozen Meat Conference, met Messrs Stevens, Buchanan and Buddo, M.H.R., MrJ. D. Richie, of the Stock Department, Mr D. J. Nathan, of Wellington, and Mr Orboll, of Geraldine, being present. Matters in connection with the conference which is to be held were discussed, including Mr Nathan's suggestions aa to combination of the companies hero, and distribution in the United Kingdom. In the evening the Committee mot, and drew up proposals to be submitted to the conference, the date for which they fixed as September sth. Tho Committee ie sitting to-day. THE TARIFF. Mr Saunders has given notice to move when the Tariff Bill comes down thab the ad valorem duty of 25 per cent, on wool packs, boots and shoes be reduced to 10 per cent. FROZEN MEAT. The Committeee decided to ask the Government to pass a Bill which will enable the proposed" company or association to take over existing freezing works and erect new works, if necessary, also to enable the Company or Association to levy a tax per head of sheep, also to take steps to take over existing freezing works, and make arrangements for unloading meat in London or other parts of England, and distributing thorn there or elsewhere.
