Drunkenness. — David Morris, charged with drunkenness, was fined 40s or in default 7 days' imprisonment. Alice Sarah Lamb, pleaded guilty to being drunk on the wharf yesterday. Jack Ashore.—A charge against Wm. Joseph Miller, sboker on H.M.s. Stray Horse.—Annie Moore pleaded guilty to being the owner of a horse found in Sale-street, without any person being in phrifge.'f-Defendant was cautioned, and the information dismissed.

Failing to Register a Bitrh.—Alexander Brown, of Onehunga, waa changed with neglecting to register the birth of a child, Ethel Jane Brown, born on the 20th October, 1894.—Defendant pleaded guilty and was lined Is and costs 7s.

Alleged Assault.—Ellinor Marks was charged thab she did unlawfully aspault Helen Marks on the 16th July.—Mr Cotter appeared for complainant, and Mr O'Meagher for defendant. The parbies in this case are relatives.—Defendant was fined 40s and costs (£2 6s), or in default 14 days' imprisonment; and further, to find two sureties in £25 each, and herself in £25, to keep the peace for 12 months. An Illegitimate Child.. — Stephen Murphy, a young man, was charged wibh failing to provide for an illegitimate child. — Mr Brookiield (instructed by the Society for the Protection of Women and Children) appeared for complainant and Mr Hammond for defendant. —Defendant on being charged pleaded guilty. — Defendant was ordered to pay 4s per week from loth June, and to pay £5 incidental to birth of child, and to find one surety in £25 and himself in £25 that he complies with the order.
