GOLD AT THE LOW LEVEL.
For the pasb few clays shares in fche Waihi-Silverton Company have been advancing rapidly in price. The reason for fche eagerness manifested by buyers was made apparent this morning, when tho following notice waa posted on the Exchange :—" Tho following cable has been forwarded to the London office. Lode cut in the low level. Lode showing free gold." This glad news.following fco close upon similar information from the Waihi mine, points to tho encouraging tacb that the gold in tho Waihi district goes down, «nd guarantees tho permanency ot the operations of the mining companies.,
