The following are details of tba concluding events :— New Zealand Grand National Handicap Steeplechase of 500sovs; the second horse to receive 75sovs, and the third horso 25sovs. Three miles and a-half. 621—Mr W. Douglas's eh g Mutiny, aged, by The Mute—Lady Maxwell, Ilsbslb (G. Hope) ... ... i 259—Mr T. Alexander's eh g Roscius, aged, list 111b (owner) 2 509—Mr S. H. Gollan's eh g Norton, agedj 13sfe (owner) ... ... 3 Other starters: (580), Liberator, F. Holmes: (119), Despised, A. Williams J (1401, Booties, Giiletb; (70), Austral, H> Peters ; (105), Chyatal, J. Hughee. Despised jumped away in front and led bill the laab round when he fell. Mutiny took command down the back stretch well clear of Roscius, with Norton next, and Liberator, who had struck the fence hard half-a-do,sen lengths away. Mutiny con! tinued to show the way pasb the kennels, where Booties refused, and Liberator moved up again. At the bop turn Mutiny was still well in front of the others, of whom Norton was now second, and hardridden, and Liberator third. Once in the straighb Norton and Liberator were both beaten, and Mutiny jumping the last fence with a clear lead, wenb on and won by five lengths from Roscius, with Norton, who pulled up twenty-lengths away, third, jusb in front of Liberator, while Chrystal was the only other horse to finish. Time, 7min 26see. Dividends: £3 12s and £36a 6d. Enfield Handicap Steeplechase of 75sovr; tne second horee to receive lOsova. About two miles. 255—Mr J. Sutton's eh g Marechal Neil, aged, by Blackrose — Diosma, lOsb 61b (Katterns) ... 1 264—Mr J. Oman's b g Nero, 6yrs, lOsb 71b (R. Wright) 2 206—Mr B. Wynn- Williams' b g Gillie, aged, lOsb (owner) 3 90. Minerva, lOsfc ; 153, Rags, 9st 71b; 71, Wharfdale, 9a6 71b, also started.
Wharfdaie fell at tho first fence, and Marechal Neil led past the stand, with Gillie, Nero, and Rags as the nearest attendants. At Cutte1 -Nero joined tba leader, and the pair led down the back stretch. Marochal Neil took command at the top turn, and, holding his position 6o the end, won comfortably by three lengths, Gillie a similar distance away, third. Rags fell at the last fence. Time, 3min 20sec. Dividends : £3 18s, and £3 8s 6d.
