DEATH OF BARON ALCESTER.

.'The death is announced of Baron Alcester, who ser.Yed in New Zealand as Sir !Frederic'Beauchamp Seymour in 186b-l. He was the commodore in command of the Australian station, and'took part in the operations* of the Naval Brigade in this Cplqny, distinguishing himself and receiving a severe wound on June 27th, 1860. In the fpllpwing year he was awarded the Companionahip of .the Bath,-and subsequently the.New"Zealand t medal. He took a conspicuous parb in the warlike operations in Egypb in 1882, and tor his services was raised to the peerage as Baron Alcester. ''
