Nelson, this day. Bishop Suter died about eleven this morn ing. .
[Right Rev. Andrew Burn Sutor, D.D., sometime Bishop of Nelson, New Zealand, was the son of the lata Richard Sutor, of Caßblo Hill, Maidenhead, by his,marriage with Ann Ruth, daughter of Major-General Burn. Hia lordship was born iv London in 1830, and educated at Sb. Paul's School and Trinity College, Cambridge, where hegraduated B/A. (Senior Oobime) in 1853', M.A. in 1856, and D.D. in 1866. He v wa<ordained deacon in 1855 and consecrated priosb in' 1856. From. 1555 to lSs9'ho was curate at Sb. Dnnsban's -in - bho- Wesb, London, raid incumbent of All Saints', Spitaliields, from the latter yo&r bill 1866, in August of which year ha was consecrated Bishop of Nolson, New Zealand, in Canterbury ■ Cathedial. The Bishop married Amelia Damans, daughter of Rev. Thomas Ifarrison, of Barham Kent. In 1889, when Bishop Harper,-of Christchurch, who was ulpo Primate/of Now Zealand, retired, Bishop Hadfield was elected to btio primacy. Aa, however, there was considerable doubb as to the proper constitution of the.electing body, the validity of the eloctibn' was d-smited, and Bishop Suter was nominated by""the dissontient party. In the end, however, the claims of Bishop; Hadfield were acknowledged.', Bishop Suter resigned the see of Nelson in 18917]_ •- V- ■•-•-•..;■
