FEMALE FORESTERS' PICNIC.
The picnic held at Pine Island on Saturday afternoon, under the auspices of the Court Chiaman Branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters in Auckland, was a greatsuccess, and proved most enjoyable, as well as a financial success. The last return steamer, with excursionists reached town about nine o'clock ab night. Bro. E. Nordon acted as starter of the races, the judges of the sports being District Chief Ranger Bro, J. Stichburyi and P.D.C. R. Keesing, while a Committee of four attended to' the handicapping.' The starting gave general satisfaction. In the morning a number of children's rapes were held, . .
The sports were well contested, and credit is due to the officials of the day for the energy: which they manifested in the afternoon's amusement. The following were the results of the spbrta :-—
