FLOODS IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
HEAVY GALES ON THE COAST.
WEST MAITLAND INUNDATED.
; ; StbXEyV January 22. Owing to the floods beyond Newcastle, the only communication with Queensland is interrupted.
Heavy easterly gales are raging along the coast, and are accompanied by exceptionally hearvy rain.
It is feared in.the Newcastle district that there will be a repetition of the floods of 1893.
The northern rivers are rising with alarming rapidity, and boats are being prepared in expectation of heavy
floods,
Most of tbre farms in West Maitland district are already inundated.
