Cambridge, this day. At the Council meeting last night. the Mayor was authorised to call tenders for all available town endowments.

The account of £3 2s trom'the Waikato County • Council for tho cost of_ the last quarterly meeting of the "Licensing Oommifctee was referred to the Legal Committee aa the charge was made only upon local bodies receiving fees for transfers granted at the meeting, instead of on each local body in the licensing dis*trict.

A letter was read from R. McVeagh,stating that the Council for years had drained a portion of the, Alpha-street into a hole in his ground. In order that the concession may not grow into a legal right ho asked an acknowledgement of one shilling a year.

It was resolved to pay tho overdraft at date. £253 14s Bd. Accounts were passed for £12 Os Id.

The clerk was authorised to advertise all rates not paid at a early date will be sued for. •--»'. : .

The Council recommended the Cemotery Trustees to ask the Governor to appoint Messrs G. Watt and W. Souter to fill vacancies upon the Board.
