ALLEGED PERJURY.
HEARING FURTHER ADJOURNED
Samuel Given, Jameß Hay, Thomaß Kervrin, Albert Dryland, William Courtney, Robert Guy, and John Herrington again appeared on remand ab the Police Courb this morning to answer the charge of having commibted perjury at the Supreme Court lasb session while giving evidence for the dofence' in the eaee againsb Abraham Bowden.
Mr McAlister, on behalf of the Crown Prosecutor, askod for a remand until nexb Friday when, he stated, Mr R, S. Bush, S.M., would be able to hear the cases.
Mr H. W. Northcrofb, who was on the Bench, asked if there were no solicitors for the defence.
The accused Given said as * bhey heard bhab an adjournmenb was bo be asked for they did nob think ib necessary to have solicibor. presenb. He said further bhab ib was a greab inconvenience for the six accused to be constantly remanded as it meanb neglecting their work, while bondsmen could nob afford the time to keep attending tho Courb bo go bail for bhose who wore oub.
HiH Worship said ho hoped bhis would be the last remand required.
Mr McAlister said he knew Mr Bush was putting himself to inconvenience in order to bo back on Friday to hear bhe cases.
His Worship thon granted the remand and renewed the bail. /
