~.'At Ellerslie this,morning .Prime Warden beat Saracen very easily in a "gallop of once round. Royal Rose got through a strong.mile and ahalf, being assisted by Campania and tit. Valentine. Lottie did atr,en{j,,..work. . Mahaki .had . slightly t.hti best of The Workman in a mile gallop. Lady Marion and the two-year-old colfc Kingsman spurted five furlongs. Ebor, with Mr Galjan up, : gob, through half-pace work a couple of times round. Norton was restricted to steady.-worjc; Bloodshot fiiiished in front of St. Ella ab the end of a six. furlong. gallop. . Orion's Belt' spurted half a mile alone, and Reynard and Commodore did similar work over rive furlongs. Haria, Lufra and Lieutenant all finished nbreasbab the end of a strong ran mile. Blue Fire did slow work. Roacius was galloped a couple of strong rounds. Magpie's " mission was strong "work. Pegasus was an absentee.
Ida waa shipped to the Thames today. St. Kilda waa scratched for the Cup at 2.45 thia atternoon.
Major George has' hopes that he will be able to send Pegaeus. to .the post for the Cup. ; ' "
MR J. FORTil'S' JEARLrNGS. The thoroughbreds to be offered at Potter's Paddock on Friday afternoon next, on behalf of Mr J. Forth, are a good* looking lot. They have nob a blemish of any kind, never having met with accident* and have had twelve months good feeding of oat?, as a foundation to carry them through their future career. Among the collection ia a fall brother to Hippomenes and Sylvia Park. ,
