The white fibrous matter over them is the mildew or fungoid growth. Mildew, is very prevalent here on all outdoor grown i jf.nes. It is caused in a largo moasureby thehuwidity cif our atmosphere, but seldom wakes itself apparent so early in the season. The best-reTuedy for* mildew Is tcrdust rlrenlanteall over with sulphur. In vine-grow-fni countries, where this disease is prevalent, they commence dusting with sulphur before itbeginato show and continue doing go till ; iL crop is gathered, aa they find that prevention is better than euro.
