MASONIC INSTALLATION.
LODGE St. ANDREW, NO. 8,
The imposing ceremony of the installation of the W.M. lor Lodge St. Andrew, No". 8, New Zealand Constitution, and investiture of officers, took place last nighb in the Masonic Hall; Princes-street. Over one hundred aotended in addition to a number ot Past Masters, who were accommodated with seats on the dais. ,The M.W. Grind* Superintendent (Brb. G. Fbwlds) arid officers of the New Zealand Grand Lodge were duly received, after which Bro. G. M. Reid was installed as Master of the Lodge, P.G.M. Bro. Niccol performing .the ceremony. The W.M. next invested the following brethren with the insignia of office:—D.M., Bro. R. B. Symon; S.W., Bro. J. D. Webeter; J. W., Bro. C. W. Edwards; treasurer, Bro. J. Guthrie, P.M. ; secretary, Brb. W. H. Cooper, P.M. ; 0. of C, Bro. t. Thomas, KM. ; organist, Bro. T. H. Webb; S.D., Bro. M. G. McGregor; J.D., Bro. D. Ifyauiason ; 8.8., Bro. NT. McCulsky; 1.G.. Bro. J. Leotiard ; S.S.. Bro. B. Symon ; J.S,. B'ro. Catchpole; Tyler, Bro. E. Tonge. On behalf of the brethren of the lodge, Bro. Niccol next presented the X.P.M., Bro. Rose, with a handsome Past Master's jewel, together with a shield containing the portraits of all the officers of the lodge who served with him- during the paat year. Another jewel was also presented to Bro. T. Ellison, P.M., in ;recognition-of his" faithful services' >for mtfny yearS-as" .treasurer of the lodge.. When the ceremony terminated' the' brethren adjourned tb:the lower hall tb'enjoy the good things provided, and also bo spend ah hour or two socially. The usual toasts were duly honoured.
