The monthly mCebirt'g'of the above Council was held yosterday, whon thoro were present, Sir G. M. o'R.orke, G. Peacocke, R. Udy, J. J. Holland, F. Bnumo, Jackson Palmer, Ruv. J Williams. Vacation—lt was decidod to elope the University Offices for c fortnighb aa usual. Telescope House. —The tender, of Mr Clark was accepted for bho erection of a house for tho teli»6cope lenb to tha College by Mr J. McCosh Clark. The tender waß for £37 10?. and the highest amounted to £60. It was decided to forward to Mr J. McCosh Clark a voce of thanks for his kindness in lending tho University tho telescope presented to him by his follow citizens as a mark of appreciation of hie services when Mayor of Auckland. Raglan Endowments. —lb was decided to lease tho endowments at Raglan for small grazing runs, under conditions to be decided upon by the Properby Committee. Taupiki Endowment. —The Chairman said ib had been decided bo lenso bhe 2,000 acres endowment at Taupiri to the miners. He bad, however, stayed proceedings when he ascertained that under the Act it would involve bhe righb of the minors to purihase the land. As this land was very poor, he thought perhaps ib would bo aa well for bhem to let ib be leased with bho righb to purchase.— Mr Udy said thab as the law required any money realised from sale of endowments to bo re-inveßted, ho saw no objection to this land being disposed of.—Mr Peacocke suggested that perhaps thoro might bo coal undor this endowment. —Mr Palmer thoughb they ehould reserve the mineral rights.—lb was agreed to offer tho land by leaso to the Taupiri miners, with a purchasing clause, reserving, if possible the tumoral righbs. The Onslow Medal.—The Committee reported tbab Miss Ethel Wilson was enbibled bo bhe Onslow medal. Attention was, however, drawn to the necessiby for altering the regulations so thab studenbs from a senior division could not come down and compebe for the modal in tho junior divißion.—Aftor some discussion the report was adopted, and it was ultimately agreed to award bhe medal, Messrs Holland, Baume, Williams, Palmer and Peacocke voting for ib, and Messrs O'Rorke and Udy againsb ib.
