THE HOROWHENUA BLOCK.
(BY tELEGBAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, this day# The "Times 8 " commenting on the Horowhenua judgment, aaya the Couri ignored the sale of 1,500 acres of the block effected by Warena Kuma to tha Crown, and for which the latter made an advance payment of £2,000. A State farm and village settlement are situated on. this portion of the block, but, as the chief promoter of the case is known to be a staunch personal friend of'^bhe Government, the " Times"'' says it may be assured he will use his best influence to assist the Government in completing its title to the farm and settlement. The "Times" hopes the native owners will not be allowed to sell an acre of the block, which consists of fifteen thousand acres of splendid land. By taking advantage of (the provisions of the Native Land Act of last session, the natives will be able to- dispose of leases throagh the Waste Lands Board to the highest bidder, and can make euro of getting the besb passible rent.
