POLICE COURT.-(THIS DAY.)
(Before R. S. Bush, Esq., S.M.) Drunkenness.— Jane McManus waß fined 10s and costs 2s 6d, or, in default, 48 houra with hard labour. Jeßßie Wingate pleaded guilty to a third o&euce within six months,, and was fined £1, or, in default, 7 days. I One first offender waa cautioned and discharged. Remanded. — Beverley Pearson ana Walter Lydiard (15) were charged, on remand, with having committed an unnatural offence at Henderson, on the 9th of December. —Mr F. E. Baume appeared fot Lydiard, Dr. Laishley for Pearson, and Mt McAliater for the Crown Prosecutor.—Mr , McAlißter applied for an adjournment of the case for a week, as a material witness in the case was absent.—Dr. Laishley. and Mr Baume objected strongly to any farther adjournment, and affirmed thab the prose* cution had no intention whatever of going on with the case.—After an animated dis* cussion, Mr Bush decided, at Mr McAlisi ter's requesb, to adjourn the caße till Wednesday next.
