FIRES AT TAUPAKI.
We are having a fair share of fires in this district, writes our Taupaki correspondent. A fortnight ago a store was burned about four miles from the Kumeu. La3t Tuesday Mr Weir had a valuable orchard in flames, and lasb Saturday Mr D. Russell very nearly lost the result of months' work. A quantiby of ti tree which had been cub ready for burning next March, caught fire. Luckly, abttention was attracted, and the incipient fire was put out.
