Some two years ago, upon the death of Professor Freeman, the late Mr J. A. Froude was appointed Professor of history ab Oxford.
A half-caste womnn poisoned herself at Kaeo on Friday night by eating about eeventy matches. She was attended by Mr Mason in the absence of a medical man, and ho gave tho customary treatment. The primary irritation was allayed, but there is still a danger thab the woman may ultimately die from secondary results.
