Messrs Hunter and Nolan report thab bhe demand for grain, seeds and horsefeed has been steady, and over an average "amounb of business done. We quote: Feed oats, 2s per bushel; seed dabs. 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; maize at ship's side, Is lOd bo Is Ud ; ox store, 2s 2d ; damaged, Is 4d per bushel; bran, £3 to £3 53 per bon ; chaff, £2 10s to £3 per ton, Wool, hides, skins, tallow and bones: Increased quantities found steady demand. Stoub ox, 3Jd to 4Jd per lb; medium, 2-Ad to 3d ; steer and cow, lfd to 2£d ; calf skins, 2d to 3d lb; tallow, 16s to I7s cwt; bones, £3 ton. Sheepskins : Local butchers, 4s to 5s 6d each ; country, Is 3d to 4s 6d ; pelts and broken skins, 3d to 9d j wool, in small packages, 5d to 6_d ; pieces, Id to'3Jd lb. All classes of cattlo have been well represented. Fat and dairy stock maintained their value, bub prices for stores were in favour of the purchaser. Prime beef ranged from 22s to 23s 1001b; indifferently fatted, £1 to £1 Is; cow, £1; fat oxen ranged from £6 10s to £12 each ; some averages of steors were £11 4s 4d, £9 6s lOd, £9 4s sd, £8 16s 3d, £8 10s, £8 8s 3d, £8 Is 3d, £7 18s 9d, £7 Us Ud, £6 18s Bd, £6 15s 6d ; cows, £6 2s 6d, £5 7s 6d, £5 15s. The Newmarkeb pens were well filled with sheep, and prices were fully Is per head lower than la3b week. Wethers sold at from 12s 9d to 19s each; shorn wethers, Us to 12s 9d; ewes, lis 3d to 17a 9d; mixed sexes, 8s 9d to 12s 9d ; lambs, 6s 3d to 12s 6d. Pigs were in limited numbers, and maintained the prexious week's values. Weaners sold ab from 9s to 12s ; porkers, £1 2s to £2 15s each.

Hides: Prime ox, up to 5Jd ; heavy stoub, 4Jd to 4|d ; heavy, 3^d to 4d ; medium and steers, 2_d to 3.d ; heavy cow, __d : good clean lines, 2d to 2gd ;_j sloppy, lAd to l|d per lb; damaged, nominal. Skins: Local green, 4s id to 5s 9d ; country dry, is 5d to 5s Id ; lambskins, lOd to Is 3d each. Wool: Small packages—fleece, 6|d ; lambs', 6£d ; pieces, 3d to 4{d per lb ; Tallow, 158 6d to 17s 6d ; inferior, 13s 6d to 14s per cwb ; rough fat, l_d per lb. Bonodusb : Emu brand £5 for sacks, £5 5s for bags per bon for 2 tons and upwards. Bacon : New cure " Morepork," selling freely.

Buckland and Sons report that ab bhe Haymarkeb during bhe past week oaben sheaves ranged in price from 2s to 2s 9d bhe cwb; barley, 2s 2d ; maize, 2s ; oats, Is lid the bushel; bonedust, £3 15s to £5 10s ; pressed hay, £3 10a ; chaff, £3 bhe ton ; at the vessel's side, maize, Is 9d to la lid the bushel. On Tuesday, hides were ab labe values. Sound ox hides from 2_d to 4d; cow hides. Ifd to 2|d; calfskins, 2d to 2|d lb; tallow, 15s to 17s 6d ; bones, 3s cwt. For sheepskins improved values were obtained ; butchers' skins brought from 3s 8d to 5s 4d each ; fleece wool, 6Jd to 7d ; locks and broken wool, 2|d to 4|_ lb. Ac Pokeno there was a fullor muster of cattle than usual sold freely. Calves brought from 18s to 35s ; dry cows, £2 10s to £3 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 7s 6d to £5 15s ; dairy cows, £3 15s to £6 10s each. Ab the Remuera cattle fair, grown cattle in fair to good condition were in demand ab full values. Young cabtle of all classes dull of sale—l,loo sold. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy and store cattle were in limited number, and without alteration in values. Calves, short of usual number, were better worth. Fab cabbie, in less number thau average, 170 yarded, were firm at last week's quotation, 21s to 22s the 1001b. Fat gheep plentiful, and at lower values, particularly sheep in their w^ci. Wethers ranged up to 17s 3d ; ewes, lbs 6d each ; fat lambs in greater rinoer than required, a few choice j:<shs brought from 8s to 12s,' buifXTi- great.er number were from 4s to 6s each. Pigs, in moderate supply, fully kept late values.
