THE MIDLAND RAILWAY BILL
(by telegraph.—parliamentary re
PORTER.)
Wellington, this day. The intention of the Premier to bring up bhe Midland Railway Bill again, took a large portion of, the House -by surprise when he made ib known. He was induced to revide the measure by the represenbation of a deputation, which waibed on him lasb nighb, and assured him thab if he.would give tho Bill anobher chance, bhe adverse vobe of Tuesday would be reversed.
LATER,
Ib is nob likely bhab bhe Premier will move bhe second reading of the Midland Railway Bill. I undorstaud that he was misled by the deputation, there still being a majority against the measure instead of in its favour as the deputation represented.
