A Melbourne cablegram announces tho death of Martin Burke, the steeplechase rider.
The mare Paradox while doing an exercise gallop on the course this morning dropped dead from failure of the heart's action.
At bho Wanganui races yesterday Irish Twiab won the Hack Race, paying a £4 17s dividend. The Flying Handicap fell to Sylvia Park, bhe other places being filled by Rosofeidt and Prestige. Dividend, £8 Is.
