Tbe Diatricb Coroner, Mr Martin, J.P., yij an inquest to-day at Stony Creek, noar 'Awabfc'ripon the body of James Johnson, .bodied on Friday last at that place, ap•■Wib'tly from the effects of a blow given by William Sidebottom. Dr. Mellish, of Jlitfcaburjj, had made » postmortem examijatioD, and found all the organs of the body intnormal state, bub the brain was consestidand the spine dislocated. De«th was caused by the said congestion, resulting jroni a fall or a blow. From the evidence 'liippeared that both men htid been having «'ords all tho afternoon. Johnson called lidebottom a blackleg, and made a rush at Him as if to etriko him. Sidebottom then (jaght Johnson a heavy blow on the right lideof the neck, knocking him down on the »rMB, He was picked up dead. William Sidebottom gave evidence corroborative of He previous testimony. ; The jury returned i verdict that death resulted from a blow jiren by W. Sidebottom under great provocation; and found him guilty of manilaughtsr. The accused was removed in cmtody. . . ■
