POLICE COURT.—(THIS DAY.)
.Before Messrs J. Savage and Rout, J.P.'s.) Drunkenness, —A firsb offender was discharged wibh a caubion. The man was arrested in Chancery Lane. — Sergeanb Gamble said the man had a lob of money on him, and ib was a good joh ho was arrested, or no doubt he would have been robbed.
Dog Registration Act.—Henry Carter, of Remuera, was charged wibh nob registering his dog for the year 1894.—There was a second charge against defendant that ho did keep a dog wearing a label issued to Mr Moore in respect of anobher dog for tbe year 1894.—Mr McCormick appeared for defendant. —The defence was bhat the collar was given to defendant by Mrs Gillespie. It was worn by a dog which had been destroyed.—A fine of 5s and 18s costs was imposed.—Mr McCormick said defendant was a working man with a wife and family, and out of work. He asked tor a month's time, to pay the fine, which waß granted. Unattended Vehicles. — Roberb Barringer pleaded nob guilby to leaving a vehicle unabtended on Queen-street Wharf. He said the wheel was chained. Captain Duder said bhe vehicle was left in the midst of a crowd of people, and the defendant was on a steamer. The Bench fined defendant Is and £1 12s costs (including £1 Is solicitor's fee), and advised him to have some person to hold his horse's head when ho went on board a steamer to deliver meat. —A similar charge against Frodk. Newton was dismissed. Mr G. N. Brasaey appeared for defeudanb. Mr Russell represented the Harbour Board in both caseß. Alleged Perjury.—A charge of alleged perjury ngainßb Abraham Bowden was again adjourned until Monday next.
