A child named Annie Hicks, aged 8 years and 9 months, died ab Brunswick, Vie-

toria, a few days ago, from tpe effects of a

cow rushing at her oh the previous day. , Ttje animal had been purchased on Friday by a Mr Heyler, of Rockbank Farm, Coburg, and.wae being driven through Brunswick by a lad named Sjdney Ford. After the animal had rushed tba child, Ford gob off, his horse togo to her assistance, when the cow then turned upon the boy and -knocked him down, with the result that

one of hia arms was broken. The injury was attended to at the Melbourne Hospital. Meantime the animal was allowed to escape. The deceased child, who had been in delicate health for some time, resided with her-'mother,'a widow, at Park-street Brunswick.
