This arrangement-has given general satisfaction to bhe natives and Europeans .nter-. ested, and is much more convenient. It is ab bhia Court thab the Whatitiri Block ia to bo dealt with. This block contains over 20,000 acres of land, 'nearly all of which is first-class. Another large block known as Mangakapua is now being surveyed by Mr P. Bedlington, and will be finished by the end of this month. It is also to be dealt with at this Court. In contains .about 16,000 acres. The land is of good quality and fairly level, and will be easily roaded. This will make, with other blocks, to go through, about 40,000 acres of land easily accessible from Whangarei and all of it suitable for settlemenb. Ib is to be hoped that the Government will endeavour to secure this for settlement purposes. The Wbatibiri Blook^containa some magnificenb volcanic land.'and is only 15 miles from the Whangarei township. These two blocks are the largest and" b6st quality bfland *J«l!.h*B fy^mnb through the Courb in this district for'many years, and the whole of it will be eagerly taken up when available.: The concert to be, given in tho Wesley Hall to-morrow evening, in aid of tbe funds of the Auckland Ladies' Auxiliary of Foreign Mission, will no doubt, draw a large gathering. . The singers, instrumentalists and reciters are all well known, and the programme is a choice ono. The admission is only 6d, bo thab a cheap evening's amusemenb is in store for the visitors.
