FIRE IN BLENHEIM
FOUR SHOPS BURNED.

Blenheim, bhis day. A EIRE which occurred jusb before 1 p.m. to-day completely gutted the premises of Macey (photographer), Shaw' (chemist), Harding (jeweller) and Hennessey (hairdresser). The outbreak occurred in the back of Mr Shaw's shop, where _ an explosion of chemicals book pace, and in a Tew minutes the fire ran through the buildings. Scarcely anything was saved Jrom either shop, and individual losses will be heavy, The insurances are nob yet available. Several adjoining premises were ccorched, and stocks damaged by water.
