(BY tELEGRAFH.^-OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Cambridge, this day. The ¥oung People's Industrial Exhibition was opened here by the Mayor on Wednesday, and continued yesterday. The children's exhibits are really splendid. A large collection of curiosities and works of art are lent by various residents of the district, Mrs Thornton, of Mangakawa, being the largest contributor. The children's musical competition was very keen ; no less than 47 entered. The premier prize was taken by Ella Simmonds, daughter of the Rev. J. H. Simmonds, late of Pohsonby. In class two, Louie Kerr, a pupil of Mr S. Adams, of Ponsonby Road, took first prize, her excution being wonderful for so young a performer. There was a large attendance on both days. Last evening the people bad to be turned away. The . whole undertaking was a grand success, and reflects great credit upon the promoters.
