CONFERENCE OF VOLUNTEERS

Wellington, this day, A CONFEREKCE of volunteer officers, con vened by the Defence Minister, met this morning ad the Parliamentary Buildings. A sub-Committee Consisting of the following was appointed to consider the amendments in the regulations ■:—Colonels Fox, Newall, Goring, Hume, Gordon, Webb. Pitt, Bottar, Majors Harris, Joyce, Captain Carncrosß, Lieutenant-Commander Allen. The following were appointed apolitical Committee to consider recomnaendabions to the Government with reference to capitation, uniforms, etc., Was aUd eeb up:— Colonels Whitaiorojlfitt, Baillie, Hume,, Captains Russell, Gob. Hutchinson. Both Committee* will report to the Conference on Wednesday next.
