A sensational affidavit has been sworn by a labourer named McMahon. He states that a well-known member of Parliament asked him to* sign a paper which he afterwards discovered was a transfer, of 36,800 shares in the Australian City and Suburban Invest ment Banking Company, . now in liquidation. McMahon finds himself liable for over and seeks to have his name removed from the list of contributories.
