Mr Carlass reports bhafc the steamer left her Southernmost porb, Dunedin, on September llbh, called atLytteiton, Wellington and Napier, meeting with fine weather rigbb along to arrival. The Tasmania, on arrival at Sydoey, ia to be docked for a thorough overhaul, which includes the replacing of the present propeller by a manganese bronze one. The alterations will not admit of bhe steamer coming down to New Zealand next trip, and her placo is to be taken by the Elingamito ; but it is oxpected that on the return of the latter steamer again to Sydney tho Tasmania will be ready bo take up the running. Capbain McGee, who has been so popular in the Tasmania, will bring over the Eiingamite. The Tasmania, timed to sail ab 4 o'clock for Sydnoy, has the following passengers booked by her: — Misses Curtis, Craig, P.
