A splendid start was effected, and on passing the stand Glenullin was in front, with Bonnie Scotland and Cobbitty next. After traversing a mile the positions were much the same, except that Nobleman bad moved up third, and Regina was tailing off last. Going along the back stretch, Mr Gollan's colt moved up to the leader, and was on terms with him as they swept past the 3heds, and here too Cobbitty came again. On entering tho straight, Nobleman showed up prominently for a momenb or so, and Chestertnan put in a decided challenge. A great race betwoen the latter and Bonnie Scotland ensued, the New Zealand colt just lasting sufficiently long to gain the judge's verdict by half, a head, Cobbitty ten lengths away was third, Nobleman and Regina together fourth. Dyke's br h Uabba, 4yrs, by Splendor—China Rose, 7sb 121b (Tierney) 1 Volney, 7sb 31b (Cook) ; ~ 2 Euroka, 836 41b (Williams) ... .... 3 Thirty horses Started. Bobbing : 7to 1 against Albecore and Cremorne, 10 to 1 Stanmore, 12 to 1 Volney, 25 to 1 Uabba. Volney rushed to the front from a good start, and Eoon put a couple of lengths between her and the field, Dalmeny and Patroness lying next, and then came Solanum, The Possible, and Albecore. At the end of three furlongs Volney was still in command, and' The Dancer was seen improving his position. Nearing the straight Bungebah began to move up, but waa twice interfered with. Before the half distance was reached Uabba shot up on the inside, and coming on full of running won by a length, Bungebah fourth, Heather Bell and The Dancer next. Time, liniu 42£ sec. The Spring Stakes, a sweepstakes of 10aov8 each, with 400sova. added. For three • year • olds and upwards. The ownor of the second horse to receive 50sovs from the prize. One mile and ahalf. Mr C. Patron led for a mile, when Brockleigh came with a web sail, and, cutting down his field at the distance poet, won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2tnin 40sec. The Kensington Handicap, a sweepstakes of 58ovs each, with 200sove added. For three-year-olda and upwards. Second horse 50aovs from tho prize. One mile.
