A splendid start was effected, and on passing the stand Glenullin was in front, with Bonnie Scotland and Cobbitty next. After traversing a mile the positions were much the same, except that Nobleman bad moved up third, and Regina was tailing off last. Going along the back stretch, Mr Gollan's colt moved up to the leader, and was on terms with him as they swept past the 3heds, and here too Cobbitty came again. On entering tho straight, Nobleman showed up prominently for a momenb or so, and Chestertnan put in a decided challenge. A great race betwoen the latter and Bonnie Scotland ensued, the New Zealand colt just lasting sufficiently long to gain the judge's verdict by half, a head, Cobbitty ten lengths away was third, Nobleman and Regina together fourth.
