Application i"or Discharge.—ln the matter of James Whi telaw, motion for discharge, Mr McAlister asked that tho case should stand over for the present. He said that criminal informations had been laid in a matter connected with this estate, and until they had been dealt with, it wa9 advisable for fche application to stand over. His Honor accordingly adjourned the hearing sine die. — The application for discharge in the case ot .Alfred Nisbet was adjourned until next sitting in bankruptcy, on the motion of Mr Stewart. —In the case of William Henry Hazard, Mr Clayton applied for an order of discharge. His Honor said that) what Mr Hazard bad done roally amounted to a composition. As chore was no opposition, and the report of the Ofiicial Assignee was favourable, the discharge was granted.—A similar order waa made in the case of James Hogg Buchanan, for whom Mr Keightley appeared. His Honor aaid a peculiarity of this case was that the creditors passed & resolution sight years ago asking tliut the debtor's discharge bo facilitated. Mr McAlister said tho delay waa not due to the Assignee, as tho bankruptcy was only closed a few days ago. A Peculiar Case.—ln the matter of Joh a Lea Stevens Mr McAlister aaid the Official Assignee wished for direction. Ho explained thai) tho total liabilities were £1,334 10a lid. At a tneetiog.of creditors representing debts amounting to £750 it was resolved unanimously that tho Official Assignee should disposo of the a3setß for £150. Mr Entrican reported that the offer was a fair one, and the Assignee thinking ho. was acting in the best interests of the creditors agreed to soil tor thab aura. Messrs Ruiisoll and Campbell on behall of a creditor who was not present at the meeting wrote objecting to the sale as it must be by public auction or tender. Mr McAlister asked His Honor to approve of the sale. His Honor said that section 12 left the power of the Court very wide.and under the circumstances ho should approve of the sale.
