A most successful gathering waß hold in Ellerslie Presbyterian Church on Thursday last. The Rev. B. F. Ferguson, Onehunga, occupied the chair. The Treasurer's report showed a credit balance of £31, and the Bible class and Sabbath-school reports were aho flourishing. The Rev. T. F. Robertson (Ponsonby), gave a most entertaining speech, and an Onehunga contingent supplied a musical programme of more than usual excellence.' Tea and cake were handed round during the evening. Most appreciative references were made to the Rev. George Brown, M.A., of Onehunga, who has kindly consented to preach in Elle'rslie Church on Sabbath mornings. Short speeches were also made by Messrs Kelsey, Hills, Campbell, Williams and jones.
We are informed that while greab credit ia due to the Onehunga Fire Brigade for turning out so smartly in the caße of the fire ab Mr J. W. Whybo'a premises, the fire had been practically extinguished by the energetic work of neighbours before the Brigade arrived on the scene.
