London, Anguet 15. Lokd Salisbury said the Evicted Tenants Biil was the result of the Government logrolline, and was merely brought forward to pay for Irish votes in support of the Budget. Lord Ro3ebery contended that the rights of the House of Lords were too dubious. Ib wat impossible for them to claim coordinate jurisdiction with the Commons. There was a scene in the Central Hall of Parliament Buildiugs after the division. Dr. Tanner told Lord Clanricarde that he was living on the blood of his tenants. Clanricardo threatened to placn him in custody, but Dr. Tanner paid no attention to the menace and left. The "Freeman's Journal" aays the rejection of the Bill renders ib impossible to? preach patience and peace.
