PILOT BOY'S SUCCESSES.
Tho Sydney-owned Pilot Boy has afforded another instance of a good horse's insensibility to weighb once he manages to hit a winning vein. Mr Oxenham's gelding has simply proved himself invincible during tho last month or so. He commenced his successful innings by winning the Flying Handicap at the Grand National Meeting of Sydney Tatterßall'a Club, and lator on tbo same day he annexed bhe Winter Stakes. A week later he carried 93b 31b successfully in the Winter Stakes at the A.J.C. Meeting, and ab Rosehill he eclipsed all his previous performances by winning tho llosehill June Handicap with 98b 91b, beating twenty opponents, truly a splendid performance. Pilot Boy's latest effort was that of finishing third with lOsb 31b in bhe saddle to King Orrv (7sb 121b) and E.K. (7sfc 61b) in tho Warwick Farm Handicap. Mr Oxenbam experienced 0 similar nm of lack all through the season
with Utter, and as no man on tho turf runs h_3 horses straightot* than doeß tho proprietor of tho violet and .gold stripes, his success is well deserved. What a moss Pilot Boy could have mado of tho Caulfield Cup as far aa " figures " are concerned, had Mr Oxonham not; ran his ho.no until the spring ! The New South Wales motallician evidontly believes in having in hand a number of small biids in preference to tho big cock pheasant in the bush.
